My mission is to watch every movie I personally own. While watching each movie, I will review it and either confirm why I own this movie, or question my choices in life. I started this mission over three years ago...what can I say, I am not a very motivated individual.

Review: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two
#109 - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two is the finale to the spectacular eight-part series. Harry finally faces off with Voldemort in a duel for the fate of the wizarding world. Several people die, including Lord Voldemort himself. The wizarding world goes back to being a safe place to live and get an education, and Harry saves the day. In the last few minutes of the film, we see Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco 19 years later sending their children off to Hogwarts. All ends well for the Boy Who Lived and his loyal friends.
I don't think they could've made a more incredible finale to this epic set of films. There were some choices made on behalf of the director that I didn't like, but overall, this was a terrific ending for both the films and for the fans.
I did not like the deaths of Bellatrix and Voldemort. I thought they were dumb. Bellatrix explodes and Voldemort fades away? Uh no. I would rather see their lifeless bodies lying on the ground: especially Voldemort. In the book, the Killing Curse backfires and ends Voldemort's life. He then falls to the ground, lifeless and dead. Now THAT is how he should die. So everyone can see just how sad and pathetic he really is. Not fading away...it's confusing. Who knows, pieces of him floating away may mean he's putting himself back together somewhere else. At least if you have a body on the floor, you know it's dead.
I also did not understand why they chose to have Bellatrix fire what is clearly a curse at Ginny Weasley while battling and having it hit her...and nothing happens. Now why in the world would Bellatrix fire a curse at someone and not have it kill or seriously injure? Not possible. In the next frame, Mrs. Weasley jumps up on the table to defend her daughter, and Ginny is standing, unharmed, on the ground next to her father. Dumb.
Last thing I don't like is how they turned Voldemort into a spider-like thing while he was fighting Harry...and how they had Harry and him fly around after falling off of a cliff...and become one person by combining their faces. It was weird, and I didn't care for it at all.
One thing that broke my heart that I've never noticed before, is when we find out Harry is alive, George turns to cheer with his brother, Fred, but Fred is dead. He actually starts to say "Fred" and then realizes no one is there. It's awful to watch!
A scene that gets me crying like a baby every time I watch it is Snape's memories. Oh my gosh. As soon as the score in the background starts playing and Snape starts walking up the stairs at the Potter's house, I'm gone. It is such a beautiful scene, and it sums up everything Snape feels for Harry's mother in a short 3-5 minute scene.
Overall, I don't have a lot of complaints for this movie. It was well done.
I give Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two 4 out of 5 stars.
