#82 - Freaky Friday
Freaky Friday is a modern remake of the 1976 film. It focuses on the completely overdone story line of switching bodies. Anna and her mom never see eye to eye. Anna is a typical teenager, and her mother, Tess is a mother who doesn't pay enough attention to her daughter because she's on the verge of getting married. One night, while eating at a Chinese restaurant, Anna and Tess are arguing. The owner of the Chinese restaurant intervenes and gives each of them a fortune cookie. They crack open the cookies and the curse begins. They wake up the next day in each other's bodies. They have to satisfy the fortune before their bodies can be returned to the original owner. Over the course of the time that they spend in the opposite body, they get a better understanding of what the other one has to deal with. In the end, they find a new love and respect for each other, and that triggers the switch back.
I am ashamed for owning this movie. It's bad. The only good thing about it is that I get to look at Chad Michael Murray...before he cut his hair. I also kind of miss pre-crazy Lindsay Lohan.
Overall, I give Freaky Friday 1.5 out of 5 stars.
