My mission is to watch every movie I personally own. While watching each movie, I will review it and either confirm why I own this movie, or question my choices in life. I started this mission over three years ago...what can I say, I am not a very motivated individual.

12 Rounds - A Review of John Cena...in a movie.
So I finished watching Movie #1 - 12 Rounds. I own this movie because I went through a John Cena phase, and I was in love. <3 I also own The Marine, so be ready for that.
12 Rounds is a movie about a police officer, Danny Fisher, who is pursuing a wanted man, Miles Jackson, when he accidentally gets Miles' girlfriend killed. Miles breaks out of jail and finds Danny - blows up his house and steals HIS girl, Molly. Miles then plays a game with Danny called 12 Rounds. I know, so clever, right? So, Danny has to win all 12 Rounds of the game to get Molly back; however, it is discovered later that Miles isn't playing by the rules, and Danny has to use his brain to figure it out. Why he didn't use his brain in the beginning and figure out that a con who just broke out of jail wasn't going to play by the rules is beyond me...anyway...
Despite the police officers in a movie being portrayed as dumber than the villain yet again, this movie is actually very good. It has action, and it has a believable relationship between not only Molly and Danny, but Danny and his best friend, Hank. The only negative aspect of the movie is that it makes John Cena into somewhat of a god - which also happens in The Marine (spoiler alert). He jumps off buildings, runs through fire, busts through windows, survives an explosion, stops a runaway trolley...I mean, he's not Superman; he's only supposed to be a cop from New Orleans. Apparently the New Orleans Police Department is keeping the fact that they hire superheroes from the general public.
Needless to say, this movie was not a waste of my time. Even though I am over my John Cena phase, I will still watch him fight crime and take off his shirt on screen (or off screen) any day. Disappointing fact of this movie: He does NOT remove his shirt.
I give 12 Rounds 3 out of 5 stars.
