Review: Dodgeball

Movie #64 -Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

Dodgeball, as the title suggests, is truly the story of the underdog. Peter runs a gym called Average Joe's, and they have to compete in a dodgeball tournament to win $50,000 and save their gym from being bought out by Globo Gym. Not only do they win the tournament and save their gym, but they realize how not average they really are.

This movie is hilarious, but it has its serious moments of realization and learning as well. I love movies when Ben Stiller is a crazy character. It seems like the only time Ben Stiller can successfully act is when he's not being himself. Movies like Night at the Museum and The Watch are awful because he plays a normal guy; however, movies like Zoolander and Anchorman are hilarious because he plays a character. I also love Missi Pyle to death. She's fabulous. She's also an actress that plays characters really well. She's a funny gal.

The only negative comment I have for this film is that they really didn't need to have all the cameos. Lance Armstrong, Chuck Norris, William Shatner...not necessary.

Overall, there isn't much to say about this film other than it's funny.

I give Dodgeball 3 out of 5 stars.
